The Arkansas Department of Health reported 486 new confirmed cases and 131 new probable cases on Tuesday.
The agency also reported 12 additional deaths and an increase of 12 hospitalizations.
The Governor outlined COVID-19 winter strategies which include increasing flu shot participation and performing 1 million COVID-19 tests by October 20. More than 830,000 tests have been conducted so far.
The Department of Commerce is reminding Arkansans receiving traditional unemployment insurance, who have not done so already, to recertify their claims by the deadline this Friday.
Education Secretary Johnny Key reports that since the beginning of the school year, 106 schools have modified instruction. Currently, 22 schools have modified instruction due to COVID-19.
The Department of Correction is reporting 379 active cases in correctional facilities. There are seven inmates currently in a hospital. Since the health emergency began, 39 inmates have died as a result of COVID-19.
