The Governor will now be holding weekly COVID-19 updates.
Today he announced 676 new positive cases from PCR tests. There are also 188 positive antigen tests.
The Governor also announced that the state will now be reporting confirmed deaths and probable deaths. Probable deaths include those who had a positive antigen test or those with COVID-19 as a contributing factor listed on the death certificate. There were 139 probable deaths that have occurred over a period of time added to the state’s total today.
Machines and supplies to allow for 12,000 antigen tests are now being distributed to county health units across the state.
The Arkansas Department of Education reported that since the beginning of the school year, 39 school districts have modified in-person instruction. Currently, 22 schools have a modified schedule.
