There were 615 new cases and 27 deaths reported at today’s COVID-19 daily update. Health Secretary Dr. Romero said many of the deaths occurred previously and were late reports to the Department of Health. Hospitalizations have increased by 12 since yesterday.
The counties with the highest number of new cases are as follows:
Washington-67
Pulaski-62
Benton-60
Craighead-49
Garland-26
It was also reported today that there were 590 antigen tests conducted yesterday. Of those tests, 156 returned with a positive result.
Education Secretary Johnny Key said the state has opted in a waiver from the US Department of Agriculture to provide meals free of costs to students through the end of this year. This waiver provides flexibility in distribution so all students including those learning virtually can be provided with meals if school districts enroll. Parents will need to work with their districts to complete applications.
