There were 806 new cases of COVID-19 reported at today’s briefing. The Governor announced there had been four additional deaths and 36 additional hospitalizations since yesterday.
The counties with the highest number of new cases are as follows:
Pulaski-104
Washington-78
Sebastian-56
Benton-49
Faulkner-51
The Governor said today that we will be having school next year. To allow districts more time to prepare for on-site instruction, the state is moving the start date from August 13 to August 24.
The Department of Education has issued response guidance for on-site learning based on the community's level of spread. A limited response intensifies cleaning, a moderate response alters meal locations and staggers schedules, and a critical response restricts on-site access and pivots to remote learning.
