With 375 new cases reported in the last 24 hours, health officials are reporting the largest single-day increase since the health emergency began. In addition, we are experiencing the highest number of COVID-19 patients being hospitalized at one time. There are 132 patients in the hospital and 31 of those patients are on a ventilator.
The health department reports 3 additional deaths.
Of the new cases, 65 are in Benton County, 63 are from Pulaski County, and 57 are from Washington County.
Health Secretary Dr. Nate Smith says 29 of the new Pulaski County cases are from one nursing home.
The Governor has set a goal for the month of June to see 120,000 COVID tests conducted in Arkansas. This will include a previously announced initiative to test every nursing home resident and staff.
The monthly state revenue report was released this morning. It shows general revenue is 2% less than it was this time last year, but 5.9% or $287.6 million more than previously forecasted.
