There are an additional 190 cases of COVID-19 being reported today. Hospitalizations are up by 6 and there are no new deaths.
The Governor was in Rogers today for his daily COVID-19 update. The Governor said he met with representatives of the Latino and Marshallese communities as well as executives of the poultry industry.
Of the 1,909 active cases, 985 are in Northwest Arkansas. Health Secretary Dr. Nate Smith said of all the cases in Northwest Arkansas, 43% have been in the Latino community.
Since the health emergency began, 571 poultry workers have tested positive for COVID-19. Of those, 392 are active cases.
The Governor said the state surpassed the goal of 60,000 tests during the month of May. This month 80,808 tests were conducted in Arkansas.
