The Governor announced today that all nursing home residents and staff in Arkansas will be tested. The state-wide testing will begin June 1. It is expected to take one month to complete all the testing.
The number of active cases in nursing homes continues to decline. 72 nursing home residents have recovered.
State-wide, there are 110 new cases being reported today. Of those 4 are in correctional facilities. Of the new community cases, 19 reside in Pulaski County, 14 in Sevier County, and 13 in St. Francis County.
The Health Department says it has conducted additional analysis on the new community cases. Health Secretary Dr. Nate Smith says business re-openings do not appear to be driving community cases.
Work continues on the website for Pandemic Unemployment Assistance. The Governor says the site will go back online once it is secure.
