· The Governor addressed calls for a Shelter in Place order in his daily update today. Health Secretary Dr. Nate Smith says the targeted response approach the state is taking is working to lower the curve. There are 400 less cases in Arkansas than previously projected for this time. The Governor says the administration evaluates the targeted response daily and will continue to make adjustments as needed.
· Corrections Secretary Wendy Kelley, says to date no inmate has tested positive for COVID-19. In-person visitations ended on March 16. Rates for phone, email, and video visitation was lowered. One staffer who did not have direct contact with the facilities has tested positive. The correctional industry making cloth masks for inmates and staff. Parole and probation fees have been waived for April.
