On Thursday, the House of Representatives passed several pieces of legislation. HB1610 was approved, amending the Arkansas Human Life Protection Act and the Arkansas Unborn Child Protection Act to clarify that doctors who act in good faith to save the life of a pregnant woman will not be prosecuted. Another bill, HB1503, was passed, which prohibits certain restrictions on Accessory Dwelling Units (ADUs) and grants landowners the right to build one ADU on their property.

The House also passed HB1620, which regulates the process and payment of pharmacy claims, and HB1607, which seeks to create the Office of Outdoor Recreation within the Department of Parks, Heritage, and Tourism. Additionally, HB1410 was approved, ensuring that no public employee can provide advance notice of an inspection to any person, business, or entity with the intent of improperly influencing the outcome of the inspection.

Finally, HB1634 was passed, establishing the Arkansas Sports Raffle Act. This new law would allow Arkansas universities to hold raffles to raise money for NIL (Name, Image, and Likeness) opportunities, scholarships, general support for sports teams, or the maintenance and construction of sports facilities at their institutions.
