On Thursday, the Governor signed two important bills into law to benefit Arkansas students. Act 123 guarantees that all students in Arkansas public schools will receive one free breakfast each school day, regardless of their eligibility for federally funded meals. Act 122, known as the Bell to Bell, No Cell Act, bans students from using cell phones and personal electronic devices during school hours, with a few exceptions.
In other legislative updates, the House passed SB98, which authorizes the third-party delivery of alcoholic beverages from certain retailers. The bill outlines the permit process and responsibilities of retailers.
Additionally, the House passed SB97, allowing businesses to own up to three retail liquor licenses, however, the additional licenses must be in separate counties and those counties must have a population of 200,000 or more.
The House also passed SB203, which outlines the liabilities and responsibilities of both operators and users of recreational tramways in state parks.
The House will reconvene on Monday at 1:30 p.m.
