On Tuesday, the House Education Committee advanced several bills including HB1511. This bill states that by January 1, 2029, every school bus owned or operated by a school shall have an electronic child safety alarm system installed.
The full House passed HB1452. This bill requires hospitals to comply with federal hospital pricing regulations and directs the Department of Health to enforce compliance.
The House also passed HB1473 and SB271.
HB1473 amends the law concerning the procedure for a name change and allows name changes to be sealed in certain situations such as domestic violence.
SB271 amends the offense of loitering by removing a section that defines loitering as lingering “for the purpose of asking for anything as charity or a gift”. This section was previously ruled unconstitutional.
The House will reconvene on Wednesday at 1:30 p.m.
